Whirlwind

Well, life has been kind of a whirlwind since my last post. November 6 Andrew headed down to Georgia to attend the John 3:16 conference at First Bapt Woodstock & he's posted about that on his blog, Call to Die. I had to attend a class for work that day, so we couldn't travel with Andrew. Christian & I flew the next day instead. I was so glad the flight was just an hour long. Christian did great & we got a big compliment from a lady a few rows behind us who had been entertaining Christian with funny faces during the flight. I was exhausted & soooo happy to see my parents at the Atlanta airport.

Andrew & I attended a friend's wedding the next day, my friend Sarah that I met at Auburn. She looked beautiful & I enjoyed catching up with Corin & Wendy at the reception.

We all traveled back to Louisville Sun Nov 9, but en route we got a call from Andrew's dad reporting that Andrew's grandma had had a massive stroke. We came on back to Louisville & waited for more news. She was put in hospice care Wed & passed away Friday evening Nov 14. Andrew & Christian headed back to GA Friday the 14th after Christian's pediatrician OK'd travel with Christian's ear infection & I flew down Sun the 16th.

Even through sad circumstances it was good to see extended family. I am incredibly thankful to every family member who took care of Christian. The funeral service was very sweet, & we rejoice that Grandma Branch is with our Savior now. A song off the Heaven & Earth album has been running through my head regarding her death.

Humbled we stand in Your presence
So happy to stay close by Your door
Walking each day in the glow of Your mercy
So happy to gaze upon Your face forevermore

She is literally gazing on Jesus' face right now. She is the happiest she has ever been, & we should long for what she now has. We are thankful for the hope of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. For more information click the Good News 2 tab to the left.

We're back in Louisville now. The semester is wrapping up & we look forward to Andrew's parents being here for Thanksgiving.

Christian is walking about 50% of the time now. He can do some tricks on command: clap his hands, wave bye-bye, & shake his head no. He's trying to say Uh-Oh & the E-I-E-I-O part of Old MacDonald. His pediatrician was somewhat concerned about his apparent lack of word associations at his 1 year check-up, so much so that we scheduled a hearing test for him in December. I think the biggest problem is just that Andrew & I don't try to teach him words consistently. Since his 1 yr check-up I've been concentrating on this a lot more & the doctor was pleased with his improvement. We've decided to wait a few more months on the hearing test & I'm trying to talk to him a lot more. We're not the most talkative people, so this really takes a lot of effort for me. Now I'm trying to tackle the 1 or 2 nap dilemma. Any suggestions anyone?!?

I took these earlier this month, the only pictures I've taken since Halloween.

I am just now catching up on my blog readings...so this might be SO last year :)
But NONE of my boys talk until they are 3.
3 YEARS OLD.
I mean, they say mama and daddy and a few words here or there, but no sentences and no 'normal' words.
Until they hit 3.
Then they never STOP talking!!!
And girl, you know me...I am a talker! i guess my boys just sit back and listen for a while and then let their thoughts be known :)
